I loved the first part of Toffs and when I get a printer I will download the rest. Can I just say I would love the book in a real book form as I'm sure all your readers would. Any chance of that happening in the future

I lived at 169 Main Street, Bridgeton, from1962 till 1971. I worked at weekends in Reids Bakers in Main Street, remember the hot rolls at night about 10 o'clock. My friend Marlyn's dad Wullie Latta worked in the bakery and her mum big Tina worked in Italos chippie a couple of doors down so we were well fed. Does anyone hav any photos of Main Street at that time?

I loved your stories Ron, just what i needed to cheer me up and remind me of home ( after 29 years in the USA ), my favorite was definitely the trip to the Barra's, i used to have the top of the pops LPs mentioned, also loved the old couple in the cafe, hilarious Ron keep them coming.

Brilliant Ron ! The trip to the Barra's cafe was hilarious, nice to see stories that dont go on about how tough it was in the Tenements and shows the lighter, funnier side of life back then.
By the way i am originally from the Calton and moved to England 34 years ago, looking forward to number 5,

Loved your stories Ron, brought back a lot of funny memories, it must have been grim at the time for the Ma's and Da's but us youngsters never noticed it. I think every close had a Mrs Campbell she is absolutely hilarious, keep them coming !!!

I look forward to seeing more of your stories. I am from Reid St Bridgeton - now living in NZ for the past 24 years. Your story of the trip to the carnival down the green transported me back to my youth in the 70's - could alomost smell the candyfloss and feel the dust in the back of my throat. Make sure you include a game of "kick the can" and "wenching"up the clsoe in some of your new stories.

How I landed on this site is a bit of a mystery, but I'm glad I did, I didn't find anything remotely funny about living in the tenements, however after reading the first story I have to say what a wonderful way of remembering and it made me a bit nostalgic, seeing it in print the humour was a big part of tenement living and its been put across really well, looking forward to more of the same thanks agnes,
